 On Saturday around 8:00 a.m., an amber alert was sent to the residence living in Hawaii about a ballistic missile attack.  For nearly 38 minutes, a sense of panic was spread throughout all the islands as people prepared for the end of the world.  Considering the recent tension with North Korea, the announcement was not taken lightly and the Hawaiian community was relieved to discover it was false.  Yet while everyone was happy that their lives were not in danger, the chaotic state in which the message caused has left Hawaii outraged and wanting answers.  Apparently the wrong button was clicked on a government issued computer which blasted the alert to almost every electronic device on the eight islands.  This left Hawaii at a very emotional state as they didn’t have to live December 13th, 2018 as their last day on earth.  I find it alarming that it took the government such a long time to turn off the alert and assure people that they are safe....

The documentary, Miss Representation , clearly stated that the world is dominated by men.  Despite the fact that the female population outweighs the male percentage, we continue to see bald, white men control Earth.  This phenomenon is concerning since we have been unable to break this tradition and continue to follow aged rules.  The stereotype that men are strong and should be leaders while women are weak sadly still applies today.  While we all know that this is untrue, men and women are capable of doing the same things, yet men are still idolized.  Men have been placed on a pedestal in terms of pay, in Congress, and usually in positions of power while women are seen as kitchen staff.  These points were very important within the film which diverse feminists destroyed with various stories, statistics, and common sense.  They clearly stated that they intend to publicize this problem which is still visible in 2018 and show how vital it is to boost yo...

       Today’s society feasts on the growing number of media outlets as forms of entertainment in their seemingly normal lives.  The main stressors such as social media, television programs and the news through the form of a magazine flood the consumers lives and ultimately dominating every aspect.  Marketing companies prey on these popular concepts to further promote their company or products towards a mass group of people.  Seen in the documentary, “Merchants of Cool,” the teenage revenue was the most wealthy and expanding in marketing world today.  Companies were constantly searching for ways to make their products better or more appealing to young adults.  In response to this expanding market, companies have created a mook figure, an obnoxious and stereotypical teenage male figure.  An example of this would be the TV show, “Impractical Jokers,” which has followed four lifelong friends challenge each other to complete pranks or dares...

      The company Louis Vuitton  owned by Bernard Arnault is a luxury brand known for their collection of handbags worth over $28.1 billion.  This iconic fashion brand can be easily identified by the interlocking V and L logo due to an excessive amount of advertising.  The television commercials and celebrity use has become the most popular form of publicizing which has greatly improved the overall income of the brand.  The following commercial attempts to further advertises Louis Vuitton which featured a collection by Nicolas Ghesquière.  Yet the handbags which are the heart and soul of the company was not center figure in the video.  Models wearing fancy clothing were flashed across the screen while taking a walk in a very extravagant setting.  The sights in Rio De Janeiro portrays that the bags will bring adventure and beach action seen in the advertisement.  The bags were rarely seen and mainly just an accessory of the overall ...

     Joe Keery who played Steve Harrington in the Netflix TV show, Stranger Things, appeared in a Domino's Pizza commercial which mimicked the 80s movie Ferris Bueller's Day Off.   The identical set, a very similar script and the comedic aspect of the ad almost distracted the real product being shown, pizza.  The classic film was meant to catch the attention of an older audience considering the time in which the movie was released.  Yet the cast choice appealed to millennials today and reflected the high viewers rates.  Despite the fact that the inspired idea for the ad came from a movie, the Domino's fast and efficient delivery service was behind the entire commercial.  Keery preached that, "Life moves pretty fast," and one must not be held back by infuriating slow distribution of ordered food.  Referring to his pizza, the actor patiently awaited his food while copying Ferris's funky dance moves, deep shower thought...
