Fame, Fashion and Handbags
The company Louis Vuitton owned by Bernard Arnault is a luxury brand known for their collection of handbags worth over $28.1 billion. This iconic fashion brand can be easily identified by the interlocking V and L logo due to an excessive amount of advertising. The television commercials and celebrity use has become the most popular form of publicizing which has greatly improved the overall income of the brand. The following commercial attempts to further advertises Louis Vuitton which featured a collection by Nicolas Ghesquière. Yet the handbags which are the heart and soul of the company was not center figure in the video. Models wearing fancy clothing were flashed across the screen while taking a walk in a very extravagant setting. The sights in Rio De Janeiro portrays that the bags will bring adventure and beach action seen in the advertisement. The bags were rarely seen and mainly just an accessory of the overall picture. The target market of this company is geared towards people who wish to be popular or stylish and see these bags as a way to attract more attention towards themselves. The high concept of wanted style and fame attracts views despite the little camera footage of the bags themselves. The brand name was only said at the very end of the advertisement and the creators depended on the famous logo to further promote the company. I find it concerning hope advertising has evolved into a system in which high consumers attention or views are the producers main focus. The flashy colors and inviting music are merely distractions of what is really being sold…bags. This commercial is simply adding the chaotic advertising scheme and the millions of advertisements that bombard the consumers.

I have seen this commercial before and I agree that the techniques used demonstrate the attention grabber aspect of the brand. I believe the setting is particularly important for the specific message portrayed because it depicts fancy venues that demonstrate prosperity when you own the Louis Vuitton bag.
